My life In Ten Images

Utah is the place that I was born. Although I did not grow up in this wonderful place, it reminds me of my parents. There passions were born in Utah, brought to Colorado, and passed on to me. It is these very passions that have shaped my life and molded me into the person I am Today.
This photo of snow is representative of the love I have for nature and the power it holds over our lives. From a story my mom told about the day of my birth, "there was a snowstorm the night before, the empty white blanket solely marked by the tracks of our car leaving the driveway that morning." Ever since my birth I have had a love for snow and the things you can do in it. It brings me joy to see the flakes hit the surface of black pavement, erasing the noise of existence.
A cottonwood tree;  beautiful and bountiful in Boulder. Although these are beautiful, they hold a different importance to me. I have allergies, the irony of my life; My love for the outdoors stifled by the discomfort it may bring me. This image represents this powerful force in my life that requires much of my attention throughout the year.
A trail, never ending, no destination; This is how I view life. I spend most of my life with views such as this before me on my bike or whilst hiking in the mountains. The parts of my life I love and enjoy come on the open stretch of trail. Never ending, this guides the story of my existence; continuing on with or without me.
Biking, how can I describe it? I guess it is almost indescribable the love that I have for it. When I get on my bike I only crave to ride it more, to enjoy it more, and I want to share it with everyone I can. There is no better expression of ones existence than a bike, "Circles Turning Cirles" a never ending cycle, life moves on. My bike has carried me to more memorable moments than any thing else in my life.
Creedence Clear Water Revival, the music of my childhood. As many people would tell you, our senses are tied to our deepest memories, and for me CCR and similar music of that era, reminds me of many strong memories throughout my life. I recall many road trips,  and family "get togethers", and relaxing with my mother listening to this music. As I hear this music it brings all the happy moments back, instantly, and it makes me want to smile.
Because of my love for snow, I also love to do things in it. Skiing as well as snowboarding are passions of mine that I've had since I could balance on two legs. There is no feeling on earth quite like floating on powder on a pair of wide skis or a snowboard. It's indescribable the feeling you get as you carve down a mountain, you "conquer" you're own little piece of the earth if only for just a moment.
The way we see the world is a unique experience for each being on this planet. Photography is a way to perhaps share with another the way you interpret the world before you. What I love about photography is the personal touch you can put into a scene otherwise untouchable. With a camera you can shape modify and change the world before you, as well as preserve it for others to enjoy.
There is no better a way to enjoy the outdoors than to live in it, at least for a little while. Backpacking is an incredible way to escape from society and live somewhat primitively. The silence in the outdoors is indescribable; complete relaxation of existence. Time slows, Days grow, and I am able to enjoy the silence in peace; getting to know the real world I live in.

This Picture is the Maroon Bells in Aspen, CO. It's representative of the State I live in, and the beauty that has found its way into my heart. I love this place that I live, and never plan to leave. My life shaped by it, and still so many places to explore; I find new places and things I love about it every year.
